On May 6, the final official episode of “We Got Married” aired the goodbye scenes of the current couples Lee Guk Joo and Sleepy, Gong Myung and Jung Hye Sung, as well as Choi Min Yong and Jang Do Yeon. Although this was the last regular episode, a special episode of the Choi Min Yong and Jang Dong Yeon couple is scheduled to air the following week. Jung Hye Sung and Gong Myung delivered wedding favor gifts to the celebrity friends who sent them congratulatory messages on the day of their Jeju Island wedding ceremony. They met one on one with actress Kim Sae Ron, actor and 5urprise member Lee Tae Hwan, CNBLUE’S Lee Jong Hyun, and B1A4’s Jinyoung to give them gifts of bakery treats and craft beer the couple had made themselves. Unable to keep from teasing a little, Jung Hye Sung and Gong Myung convinced Lee Jong Hyun and Jinyoung to perform for them before the couple handed over the gift they had prepared. Both singers fulfilled the couple’s request, and in the end Jung Hye Sung expressed that though she and Gong Myung had gone to give gifts, “Instead, it was a day I ended up feeling thankful.” Afterward, Gong Myung and Jung Hye Sung enjoyed a romantic date on the Han River. Afloat in a small, round leisure boat, the couple watched the movie “500 Days of Summer” together. As it was their last time filming together, the two were more loving and affectionate with each other, and they reflected on how their meeting and interactions really seemed fated. Sleepy and Lee Guk Joo continued their honeymoon in Japan with a train trip to a quaint village in the countryside. Sleepy planned this trip full of romance and character just for Lee Guk Joo, and he succeeded in creating an experience she truly enjoyed. The two started their sightseeing by snacking on all of the delicious food they spotted around them. Afterward, they created memories together doing different activities, such as picking small figurines of their Chinese zodiac sign to discover their fortunes for the year and a shooting gallery game where the couple used their teamwork to win many snacks. During her interview, Lee Guk Joo expressed her joy and thankfulness about the trip as she said of Sleepy, “Either it was a good time because we have the same tastes in activities, or [Sleepy] was just being really considerate of my interests.” At the end of the trip, Sleepy and Lee Guk Joo wrote heartfelt messages on postcards, which they then mailed to each other to receive in Korea. Choi Min Yong and Jang Do Yeon decided to spend their afternoon out on the water. To show his gratitude to Jang Do Yeon for preparing a birthday lunch for him, Choi Min Yong decided to take Jang Do Yeon on a “boat drive” out on the water. As Choi Min Yong steered, the couple were able to spend time on the boat together alone. The couple was all smiles during their date on the water and truly appeared to enjoy each other’s company. Choi Min Yong gave Jang Do Yeon a steering lesson, and she shared in her interview how much she appreciated him giving her a new experience. At one point, Choi Min Yong caught Jang Do Yeon as she lost her balance on the rocking boat. He playfully turned the moment into an opportunity to dance with her out of the blue, causing her to break out into laughter. Although the couple was unable to catch any fish while out on the water, Choi Min Yong prepared a special sushi platter for Jang Do Yeon—taking special care with the presentation of the meal. “We Got Married” first started with season one in 2008 and remained on air for the next 10 years. With its unique concept of a virtual marriage, the show quickly gained popularity, and at times even attracted controversy. Staying on air for a decade, however, means it was a show that received a lot of love, making it all the more bittersweet to witness the end of this season and the show’s subsequent break. Jung Hye Sung was really surprised and touched by her virtual husband’s “proposal” on “We Got Married”! On February 11’s episode of the virtual romance show, Gong Myung enlisted his fellow 5urprise members for help with an elaborate proposal event for Jung Hye Sung. The plan involved Gong Myung calling Jung Hye Sung and pretending to be sick, and then agreeing with her to meet at a busy square in Seoul. Jung Hye Sung headed with 5urprise’s Seo Kang Joon and Yoo Il to meet Gong Myung, and on the way they kept bumping into some people dressed as cartoon characters, who were of course part of Gong Myung’s plan. However, she didn’t pay them much attention because she wanted to hurry to meet Gong Myung, who she thought was ill. When Jung Hye Sung and the two guys finally arrived at the proposal location, they found a heart drawn in the snow with candles and flower petals, as well as the three guys in costume who were Gong Myung, Kang Tae Oh, and one of their managers. “This is really weird. Who’s in the costumes? Is one of you Gong Myung?!” asked Jung Hye Sung, catching on right away. After Jung Hye Sung jokingly tried to run away from the event, the three guys in costume took turns opening pages in large sketchbooks as a confession message for her. The message asked her to guess which one of them was Gong Myung, but Jung Hye Sung knew who he was right away! She giggled and hugged Gong Myung, who got angry at the other guys. Jung Hye Sung explained that she had seen the others’ hands when they were opening the sketchbook pages, and it was obvious that they were not him. After taking off his costume, Gong Myung then put a flower crown on her head before presenting her with a ring and getting down on one knee. “I’m going to cry!” she said as she looked down at him, and Gong Myung got the crowd to cheer. “Please marry me!” he said to her, and she burst into tears for real as they put the rings on each other. After they hugged, she jokingly scolded him in tears, “I was worried about you! I thought you were sick!” As she continued to cry, Seo Kang Joon said to Gong Myung, “Hug her, hug her,” and then nodded approvingly when Gong Myung took his advice and wrapped Jung Hye Sung in his arms as she sobbed. “I thought you were sick!” she whined, and pretended to kick him. In her private interview, Jung Hye Sung explained, “Everyone had come there for me, and he had prepared the proposal, so I felt like I was loved. Previously, it was confirmed the current season of MBC’s “We Got Married” is officially coming to an end. On April 26, a source reported that Gong Myung and Jung Hye Sung filmed “We Got Married” for the last time on April 13. In the most recent broadcast of the show, Gong Myung and Jung Hye Sung traveled to Jeju Island for a small wedding ceremony and the first night of their honeymoon. For the last part of their story, the couple showed their appreciation for their friends by gifting them with wedding favors. Likewise, Sleepy and Lee Guk Joo also went on a trip before ending their virtual marriage. They traveled to Japan together for their honeymoon. It is reported that this couple did not have any additional filming sessions together after they returned to Korea, so the end of this trip will mark the end of their virtual marriage as well. A source from the show said that both Sleepy and Lee Guk Joo were aware of this fact during their final shoot, and thus provided a “special and beautiful ending” to their story. Jang Do Yeon and Choi Min Yong, who only recently joined “We Got Married,” finished shooting on April 19 at their regular island residence. The couple’s first night together was only just aired on last week’s episode, but their virtual marriage is already facing its end with the cancellation of this season. It was reported earlier that Jung Hye Sung and Gong Myung would be setting off to Jeju Island and viewers now know why through new stills from MBC’s “We Got Married.” The stills show Gong Myung and Jung Hye Sung holding a wedding ceremony in a field of flowers on Jeju Island. The two even wrote their own marriage declarations and read them aloud to each other. Afterwards, the two hug and remain in each other’s arms, displaying their sweet affection for one another. In his interview, Gong Myung says, “She was so beautiful when she showed up wearing a white dress,” expressing his honest emotions towards his wife. The couple's road trip was indeed one of the most romantic scenes in Korean television. The couple taking turns in driving while giggling their way through the highways was indeed more than one could handle. According to All KPop, Jung Hye says that the important thing in a vacation is now the things that you go to. But instead, the most important thing about having a vacation is to whom you spend it with. After Jung Hye Sung's short romantic speech, Gong Myung looked at her and giggled in a way that reveals he's really in love with his newly-wed wife. This just shows that Jung Hye Sung is the romantic-type of gil who cherishes the moments she shares with his newly-wed husband. After those cheesy moments of theirs, they then sang along with A Pink's "Mr. Chu". The actress then asked Gong Myung if she could get a kiss from him.
